Carhart

Carhart is a compact neighborhood area near the middle of White Plains, positioned between the close-in residential blocks, institutional anchors, and larger south-side neighborhoods around it.

It is one of the neighborhood associations currently represented through WPCNA, giving residents another point of connection within the council.

Fisher Hill

Fisher Hill is a historic neighborhood within walking distance of the central business district of White Plains, NY.

Residential development began around 1900, and many of the large vintage homes from that era still define the neighborhood's character today.

Fisher Hill is notably diverse in ethnicity, age, and income.

Gedney Farms

Gedney Farms is a historic residential neighborhood located in the southern portion of White Plains, New York.

Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025, the neighborhood is known for its quiet, tree-lined streets, distinctive pre-war homes, and strong sense of community.

Formed in 1925, the Gedney Association is one of the oldest neighborhood associations in the country and is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the neighborhood’s historic character, promoting thoughtful land-use planning, improving neighborhood safety, and fostering community engagement among approximately 506 households.

Gedney Meadows

Gedney Meadows has a softer, more tucked-away feel than some of the busier south-side corridors.

The area comes across as calm and residential, with a name that fits its gentler character.

Highlands

The White Plains Highlands Civic Association was founded to promote and protect the interests of the residents in the historic neighborhood known as the Highlands and the residents of the City of White Plains.

Within walking distance of the wide array of attractions, shopping, and employment opportunities in downtown White Plains, the Highlands is known for its walkable streets, variety of lovely homes, gardens, parks, schools, and houses of worship.

The WPHCA is a volunteer organization which raises annual dues to help communicate local issues, hold events and programs of interest, maintain two gardens, and provide scholarships to local high school seniors heading to college.

Any Highlands residents are welcome to join the WPHCA and we take pride in our neighborhood’s diversity, active organizations, and community spirit.

The neighborhood is generally bounded by Maple Avenue to the north, Greenridge Avenue and Old Mamaroneck Road to the east, Hartsdale and Prescott Avenues to the south and Soundview Avenue to the west.

North Broadway

North Broadway has one of the most recognizable addresses in White Plains, combining a main route through the city with long-established residential stretches.

It feels prominent without feeling overly busy, and it carries some of the north side's older character.

North Street

North Street covers a broad stretch of the east and southeast side and is one of the roomier-feeling sections of White Plains.

Parts of it are known for larger homes and longer blocks, and the overall impression is residential, established, and spacious.

Old Oak Ridge

Old Oak Ridge is a small east-side pocket with a tucked-in, private feel.

It reads as residential and somewhat apart from the busier blocks closer to the core, while still staying well placed for getting around.
