On Wednesday, May 21, we’ll be shutting down Mamaroneck Avenue between Maple Avenue and East Post Road to make way for expanded outdoor dining, a concert stage, and activities for all ages to enjoy. This event is made possible with support from our presenting sponsor, White Plains Hospital.

Final Vision Zero Public Meeting – Thursday, April 24. 2025

 

Come join us for the Vision Zero Public Meeting which will be held on Thursday, April 24 at the White Plains Library, 100 Martine Avenue between 6 PM and 8 PM. At the meeting, VHB consultants will provide an overview of the Vision Zero Action Plan process, proposed infrastructure recommendations based on analysis findings, stakeholder and public input, and strategies that will help the City of White Plains achieve its roadway safety goals.  The White Plains Vision Zero Plan is designed to make our streets safer for everyone by working to prevent serious injuries and fatalities.  Attached is a social media graphic for the upcoming public meeting, please share with friends and neighbors.

Downtown White Plains' favorite wing event is back!

Join us on Saturday, April 26th, for a fun day of tasting and voting as you stroll through Downtown White Plains and sample wings from 19 local restaurants. With up to 38 wings to try, there's plenty to love for every wing fan.

Participating restaurants include Alex Lounge Bar & Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, Cantina Taco & Tequila Bar, Delicias del Jireh, El Primo, Freebird Kitchen & Bar, Hudson Grille, Lilly’s, Mario’s Pizza Restaurant, OMC, Ron Blacks Beer Hall, Shiraz Kitchen & Wine Bar, Sundance Kitchen & Cantina, Tepe’s Kitchen, The Blind Pig of Westchester, The Brazen Fox, The Lazy Boy Saloon, TVB by Pax Romana, and Wolf & Warrior Brewing Co.

Tickets are $40 for VIP online ($45 day-of) and $25 for General Admission online ($30 day-of). Kids ages 5-10 are $15, and kids under 5 are free. Tickets will also be available for purchase on the day of the event, but only by credit card.

 Dear Stakeholder,

On behalf of the City of White Plains, I want to thank those who were able to attend our 1st stakeholder meeting on September 24.  Your participation and insights were valuable to the discussions and outcomes.


We are committed to maintaining this dialogue and moving forward in a manner that aligns with ours hared objectives. We will have another stakeholder meeting early next year and look forward to seeing you all.


We greatly appreciate your assistance in outreach regarding this project. The 1st Public Meeting for the White Plains Vision Zero Action Plan is scheduled for Wednesday, October 23rd, 6:00-8:00 PM at the White Plains Public Library Auditorium (100 Martine Avenue). Attached is a social media graphic that you can share within your networks to encourage public participation. This meeting is an opportunity for you and the White Plains community to stay informed, ask questions, and engage with the City about roadway safety issues. The public input survey is also live, and we have attached a survey graphic that has links and QR codes for the survey. We encourage you to take the survey if you have not already, and share it broadly by posting it in your newsletters, bulletin boards, and social media networks. By working together, we can make our roadways a safer place for everyone.

Vision Zero Action Plan

As you may be aware, the City of White Plains is currently working on its Vision Zero Action Plan, which aims to eliminate roadway fatalities and serious injuries, while increasing safety, health and fair mobility for all. Please see the attached flyer and visit Vision Zero | White Plains, NY - Official Website (cityofwhiteplains.com) to learn more about the plan.

We are pleased to invite you to the first stakeholder meeting to discuss the Vision Zero Action Plan goals, process timeline and preliminary analysis findings.  

Date:               Tuesday, September 24

Time:              6:00-8:00 PM

Venue:            Common Council Chamber, City Hall, 255 Main St. White Plains, 2nd floor

Our agenda for this meeting includes:

  • Plan, Goals and Timeline: Introduce the plan goals and process timeline
  • Progress Update: Overview of analysis and engagement findings, next steps
  • Stakeholder Feedback and Discussion: Moderated discussions for your valuable input and suggestions

As a key stakeholder your participation, perspectives and insights will assist the City in developing an Action Plan that will help to safeguard our roadways for decades to come. We look forward to a collaborative and productive session.

The City of White Plains was awarded $10 million in funding as the Mid-Hudson Region winner of the seventh round of the DRI to revitalize the downtown neighborhood (“The Heart of White Plains”).  Click here for more information.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts on improvements for downtown.

Please join us on Monday, September 9, from 6-8 pm for the second and final DRI Public Workshop to be held at the City of White Plains Public Library, located at 100 Martine Avenue, 2nd fl. Gallery/Auditorium.

Learn about potential projects to improve our downtown and voice what you think about them! Do you think we need more bike lanes, open space, or public art? Give us your ideas and suggestions.
